Aadhya Self Help Group is located in Deorali, Gangtok, Sikkim. Established in November 2019 by Ms. Puspa Sharma (38), the Self Help Group (SHG) is engaged in the processing of products like Traditional Snacks, Pickles, Fruit Wine, Turmeric Powder, Ginger Powder, Meat Pickles, etc.

Ms. Puspa Sharma was interested in purchasing food processing machinery and upgrading the SHG. She came to know about the PM Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme through awareness programmes conducted on PMFME. After applying under the PMFME Scheme, she received a bank loan (Punjab National Bank) of Rs.3,04,614 in February 2022. With the loan amount, she purchased a Pickle Mixing Machine, a Paste Making Machine, a Dryer, a Weighing Scale and a Grinding Machine.

Earlier, the per month production capacity of the Self Help Group was between 10kg to 15kg. After the installation of the machinery, the production capacity increased to the range of 20kg to 30kg per month. The monthly revenue generation of the SHG increased from Rs.10,000 to Rs.30,000.


The products are being marketed within Sikkim via local stores and retail outlets. Ms. Puspa Sharma aims to increase the production capacity of the SHG and market the products across the country. The financial turnover of Aadhya Self Help Group for FY 2021-22 was Rs. 50,000. The entrepreneur has also received training in Packaging of Fresh & Processed Foods, Horticultural Crop Processing and Bakery Product Processing under the PMFME Scheme.
